From 3 May to 16 June 2010, the Kitchener-Waterloo People’s Summit (KWPS) hosted twenty-six events that educated, engaged, entertained and worked to mobilize the citizens of K-W in the lead up to the G8/20 summits and convergences in Huntsville and Toronto.

As settlements expand across Jerusalem and Israel’s military occupation in the West Bank and Gaza intensifies, Palestinians are on the edge of a new popular revolt. Israel continues its crippling siege of Gaza, while – a year after the war – it is again expanding military action in the strip.

Nonviolence, the War on Terror, and Revolution: the role played first by nonviolence and now by the War on Terror to pacify social conflicts, and how people can recover the power to fight back.

"G20 Poets: When Words Resist"
A showcase of local KW spoken word poetry themed on anti-colonialism, anti-capitalism, human rights, anti-patriarchy, social justice, ecological sustainability, indigenous rights, community building. This event will showcase 20 poets who will each perform a piece that will engage, challenge and inspire the audience surrounding these issues.
